This education, required by the Occupational Safety &amp; Health Act, is also called Workers&#8217; Right To Know.<\/p>\n<p>These are the resources to help you stay safe &amp; identify hazardous chemicals in the workplace.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Safety Data Sheets<\/strong><strong> (<\/strong><strong>SDS) <\/strong>An SDS is developed by the chemical manufacturer, distributor, or importers to <strong>communicate information on the hazards of hazardous chemical products<\/strong>. The SDS also provides guidance on how you can protect yourself from these hazards. These are the <strong>16 sections found in SDS<\/strong>: Identification, Hazard(s) identification, Composition\/information on ingredients, First-aid measures, Fire-fighting measures, Accidental release measures, Handling and Storage, Exposure controls\/personal protection, Physical and chemical properties, Stability and reactivity, Toxicological information, Ecological information, Disposal considerations, Transport information, Regulatory information, Other information<\/li>\n<li><strong>Labels<\/strong> Every product container is required to have a label that lists all of the hazard information for the chemical it contains. Labels must include the identity of the product, harmonized signal word, hazard statement, the identity of the manufacturer, precautionary statement, and pictograms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/2022\/04\/22\/hazard-communication\/sample-label\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4284\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4284\" src=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sample-Label.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"734\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sample-Label.png 529w, https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sample-Label-150x105.png 150w, https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sample-Label-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 734px) 100vw, 734px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Identifying Pictograms<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/2022\/04\/22\/hazard-communication\/pictograms\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4283\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4283\" src=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Pictograms.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"639\" height=\"474\" srcset=\"https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Pictograms.png 639w, https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Pictograms-150x111.png 150w, https:\/\/int.aceac.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Pictograms-300x223.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB SPECIFIC- INFORMATION FROM YOUR SAFETY MANUAL\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hazardous Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wear the chemical goggles when using, applying or handling chemical liquids from containers labeled &#8220;Caustic&#8221; or &#8220;Corrosive.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions on the label and in the corresponding Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each chemical product you will be using in your workplace.<\/li>\n<li>Use personal protective clothing or equipment such as neoprene gloves, rubber boots, shoe covers, rubber aprons, and protective eyewear, when using chemicals labeled &#8220;Flammable&#8221;, &#8220;Corrosive&#8221;, and \u201cCaustic&#8221; or &#8220;Poisonous.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Always use your chemical goggles and the face shield when handling chemicals labeled &#8220;Corrosive&#8221; or &#8220;Caustic.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Do not use protective clothing or equipment that has split seams, pin holes, cuts, tears, or other visible signs of damage.<\/li>\n<li>Each time you use your gloves, wash them, before removing the gloves, using cold tap water and normal hand washing motion. Always wash your hands after removing the gloves.<\/li>\n<li>Only dispense a liquid labeled &#8220;Flammable&#8221; from its bulk container located in areas posted &#8220;Flammable Liquid Storage.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Do not use chemicals from unlabeled containers or unmarked cylinders. 9. Do not drag containers labeled &#8220;Flammable.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Do not store chemical containers labeled &#8220;Oxidizer&#8221; with containers labeled &#8220;Corrosive&#8221; or &#8220;Caustic.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>For Confined Spaces<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use survey equipment such as an &#8220;organic vapor meter&#8221; to test and monitor the confined space for oxygen deficiency and explosive or hazardous gases\\fumes.
